Project name: Paseo Westpark/Warner Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements

Date of Opening Bids: Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  Bid will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Irvine

Location of The Work: The work to be performed hereunder is located in the City of Irvine, County of Orange, on Paseo Westpark at Warner Avenue.photo

Description of Work: The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: Removal and installation of new traffic signal poles, traffic signal equipment, and new traffic signal controller; installation of video detection system; rewiring intersection with new traffic signal cabling/wiring; removal and replacement of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk; removal of existing and construction of new curb ramps; and other items not mentioned here, but are required by the plans and the Special Provisions.

Engineer’s Estimate: Construction cost estimate for the project is above $350,000.

License Requirement: Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class A license.

Federal Funding: This project will be financed in part by federal funds. All bidders shall meet all required federal requirements, included in these Special Provisions.  Federal Requirement (FR) pages must be executed and submitted with the bid. Failure to submit the FR pages may render the bid non-responsive. Bidders are advised that, as required by federal law, the City of Irvine is implementing the new Race Conscious Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (New RC DBE Program)

The DBE contract goal is thirteen percent (13%).

Completion of Work and Liquidated Damages: All work shall be completed in a total of Sixty-five (65) Working Days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages shall be Eight Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($815) per Calendar Day, for each and every Calendar Days delay in finishing the work, in excess of the number of Working Days prescribed above.
