City of Irvine- New RFP for Traffic Signal Improvements

The City of Irvine releases new RFP- McGaw Avenue/Armstrong Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements-CIP 331608.

BID OPENING: Bids will be received at the City of Irvine until 10:00:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Hand-delivered or courier delivered bid packages shall be brought to the RECEPTIONIST for the Purchasing Agent at the reception desk located on the first floor of the Civic Center building at the City of Irvine, located at One Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, California 92606-5207. Mailed bids shall be sent to City of Irvine, c/o Purchasing Agent, P.O. Box 19575, Irvine, CA 92623-9575. All bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes.

 ENGINEERS ESTIMATE: Above $600,000

MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Public Works, 6427 Oak Canyon, Bldg. 1, Irvine, California 92618-5202 (multi-purpose room). Failure to attend will result in your bid being declared non-responsive.

SCOPE OF WORK:

  • Traffic signal installation
  • Traffic signal interconnect installation
  • Striping and pavement marking modifications;
  • Sign installation
  • Removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, slurry seal; utility/pull box adjustments
  • And other items not mentioned here, but are required by the plans and the Special Provisions.

 

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class A license. At the time of submitting the bid, the Bidder shall be licensed as a contractor in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Chapter 9, Division 3. All traffic signal (and/or street lighting) work under this Contract shall be considered specialty in nature. Any Contractor and/or subcontractor proposing to perform this specialty work must possess a valid Class C-10 license prior to award of contract. Persons performing the work of an electrician shall be certified in accordance with California Labor Code Section 3099. Proof of Certification shall be provided to the City prior to commencement of work.
