ReCreation Camp

By August 12, 2014SABP Staff

SABP7In the past weeks at the Irvine Outdoor Education Center there was a camp hosted for adults with developmental disabilities called ReCreation Camp. One of SABP’s employee’s, Rachel, who also happens to be the owner’s daughter, took the week off of work to volunteer for this amazing camp. This was her second year being a counselor. ReCreation Camp is a week long camp that is staffed completely by volunteers and is offered at no charge to the campers. Throughout the week, campers attend classes such as art, music, dance, spirit and games and also spend an hour each day swimming in the pool. At night, there are special events like a talent show, karaoke night and a dance. This camp offers these special adults a safe place to be accepted, loved and to have the week of their lives while giving their parents and care givers valuable respite. This camp is made possible by the generous donations of Catholic Charities, the Knights of Columbus, and members of the community. SABP recently started donating to this great organization and will continue to in the future. If you would like to donate or read more about this organization please visit their website at recreationcampoc.com or by emailing the directors at camp@ccoc.org]]>
