Great Wolf Lodge Water Park is Full Steam Ahead!

BlogPic1The highly-anticipated Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Hotel finally broken ground on March 21st.  The $300 million, 12-acre family entertainment water park is being developed by McWhinney.  The hotel resort will offer a minimum of 600 kid-friendly rooms with a possible addition of 200 more and will include all-suite guest rooms. Blog3 A parking garage and one or more planned restaurants are also set to be constructed. The 100,000 square feet water park will be one of the biggest in the Great Wolf Lodge portfolio and among the biggest indoor water parks in the world. In addition to the usual water park suspects, such as a lazy river, wave pool, and water slides, the Garden Grove property will likely feature some signature attractions such as a funnel ride or water coaster. The resort will also offer a 30,000-square-foot conference center. As with the other Great Wolf Resorts, it is expected that water park admission will be included in the room rate. The City of Garden Grove has moved forward to aggressively redevelop the Harbor Boulevard corridor and recently rechristened the area as the “Grove District-Anaheim Blog2Resort.” The re-naming and re-branding of the city’s most recognized tourist area along Harbor Boulevard, located within a mile of the Disneyland Resort is the result of a collaboration between the Orange County cities of Garden Grove and neighboring Anaheim to market the area as a major tourist destination. The Great Wolf Lodge is looking to capitalize on the close proximity to Anaheim’s resort area.
