The Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators hosted a golf tournament and silent auction to raise money for CASA Teresa. The OC-ALA is a non-profit organization established to meet the needs of the members through education, networking, and the exchange of information. The Chapter provides opportunitieses for leadership, and enhances the visibility and credibility of the legal management profession through community service projects and alliances with bar and other legal associates.
Despite the record 100 degree heat, 64 golfers took over the greens at the Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine on September 16th to raise money for CASA Teresa. SABP’s president, Colleen, was one of them! Once the 9 hole course was completed, the golfers were joined by an additional 69 guests on the patio to enjoy happy hour, featuring appetizers, and live music.
After dining under the stars the silent and live auction concluded the evening. Due to the generosity of many sponsors and donations from members and law firms, the fundraiser was a huge success generating over $10,000 for CASA Teresa.
Casa Teresa has been home to over 5,500 women and children over the past 38 years. CASA Teresa saves lives by providing a temporary home and on-going support for pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are alone. Life skills and education programs prepare these women to make loving and informed decisions for themselves and their babies, increasing the probability of a successful future for mother and baby. ]]>
