Irvine Ranch Water District, Baker Water Treatment Plant Bid Opening!

The Bid Opening for The Baker Water Treatment Plant was held at the IRWD on September 26th, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Only 3 of theIrvine Ranch Water District, Baker Water Treatment Plant is out for Bid! 6 pre-qualified select bidders submitted proposals for this RFP. The Engineer’s Estimate for this project was Sixty-six million, nine hundred sixty-seven thousand dollars ($66,967,000). Time of Performance for completion is 820 consecutive calendar days (2 years 3 months  from date of mailing the Notice of Award.) The bid amounts are listed below:

 

 

The Baker Water Treatment Plant will be built at the existing Baker Filtration Plant site in the City of Lake Forest. The project is intended to provide increased water supply reliability to south Orange County by increasing local treatment capability for multiple water supply sources, including imported water and local surface water from Irvine Lake. It will also help provide a reliable local potable water supply in the event of emergency conditions or scheduled maintenance on the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s (MWD) delivery system.

Water produced from the Baker Water Treatment Plant will not only be distributed to IRWD customers, but will also benefit neighboring water agencies and their customers. Our partners include Moulton Niguel Water District, Trabuco Canyon Water District, Municipal Water District of Orange County, El Toro Water District, and Santa Margarita Water District.
