“Never quit, show up on time, tell the truth, never be attached to the outcome of the situation and do what’s right even when no one is looking”. These are the principles of Wayne Smith, owner of Corona del Mar Properties. Smith, a Southern California native grew up in Lakewood California and started his first business at the age of 5 by emptying trash in his neighborhood for $.25 each. From the age of 13 Smith wanted to be a realtor and was inspired by his mentor Steve Waters, a former football player. He was a successful realtor for over 24 years and was ranked #1 top realtor by the State of California National Association of Realtors. Just before the recession, in January of 2008 Smith had the opportunity to purchase Corona del Mar Properties. After home sales had almost completely halted, he made the decision to focus on property management. That decision along with a lot of hard work, networking, giving back to the Community and investing into his business is what carried him through the recession and last year the company saw sales exceeding $25 million.
Smith has just launched another division of his company, Corona del Mar Escrow Services, and he is increasing the number of agents within his company. He hopes to see his specialized representatives in every city in Orange County within the next 5-10 years and he wants to see each agent making over $250,000 annually. This entrepreneurial spirit has proven to be the defining factor contributing to the success of his real estate company. When asked what advice he would give to other entrepreneurs, Smith said “you have to have blind faith, stay focused on your business plan, be consistent, and not be afraid to work hard”
SABP Reprographics has been printing fliers, stationery, envelopes, business cards, postcards, and facilitating direct mailing for Corona del Mar Properties since 2012. It has been a pleasure working with Wayne and his staff and we are very grateful for their support. SABP is looking forward to seeing the success story continue for many years to come. Well done Mr. Smith!
