The 17th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival Begins Today

The Newport Beach film festival begins today April 21st 2016. 

The festival will bring to the community the best in classic and contemporary film making. They will be screening over 350 films from 50 different countries, host 25 spotlight and special events, and produce an exceptional seminar program. The festival is a celebration of film as an art form as well as entertainment. This great event would not be possible without the many sponsors, supporters and over 500 volunteers. The event is one of the largest entertainment events on the west coast.


The City of Newport Beach, founding sponsor, recognized the potential of the festival as a beacon of art and culture and a mechanism for economic growth in the City. The films will be screened at four theaters in the area including Big Newport, The Island Cinemas, South Coast Village Theaters, and The Triangle Theaters

The opening night screening is USA film called After the Reality, starring Matthew Morrison and will be screened at Edwards Big Newport followed by an opening night Gala under the stars, and an exclusive performance of KA by Cirque du Soleil. Bloomingdale’s courtyard in fashion island will also be hosting a post-Cocktail party. The Festival will run from April 21st to April 28th.
