HELPFUL COOKING TIPS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
After chopping Garlic, simply rub your fingers along the blunt side of a stainless steel knife to remove the odor from your fingers (it really does work)
Take your bananas apart when you get home from the shop. If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminium foil. It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!
Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating.Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are stronger flavored.
You can flip a toaster on its side and grill cheese in it.
To save leftover wines, freeze them in ice cube trays. They can be used for any dish you would season with wine or can be also used in coolers.
Cottage cheese can be used in place of sour cream when making dips. Just place it in the blender until it is creamed.
To easily separate an egg yolk from whites, poke a small hole in the end of an egg and drain the white through the hole. After you have drained the egg white, just crack the egg open for the yolk.
Fat from soup and stews can be eliminated by dropping ice cubes into the pot. Then stir and the fat will cling to the ice cubes. Remove the ice cubes after a few seconds.
Hope these tips are helpful!
Wishing you and your family a rest filled and very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
