City Of Irvine New Street Rehab Notice Inviting Bids

Project Name: Yale Avenue Rehabilitation – Irvine Center Drive to Roosevelt

Date of Opening Bids: Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:00:00 a.m  at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Irvine

Location of The Work: The work to be performed hereunder is located in the City of Irvine, County of Orange, on Yale Avenue – Irvine Center Drive to Roosevelt.

Description of Work: The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: Cold milling, removing and replacing AC pavement, AC and ARHM pavement surface course overlay, adjusting valve covers and manhole covers to grade, removing and replacing damaged concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, modify curb ramps, slurry seal, traffic signal modifications, and traffic signal interconnect wiring, and other items not mentioned here, but are required by the plans and the Special Provisions.

The Engineer’s Estimate: Construction cost estimate for the project is above $2,800,000 (rounded to the nearest ten thousand).

Completion of Work and Liquidated Damages: All work shall be completed in a total of Fifty-Five (55) Working Days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages shall be Seven Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($7,600) per Calendar Day, for each and every Calendar Days delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of Working Days prescribed above.

License Requirement: Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class A license. At the time of submitting the bid, the Bidder shall be licensed as a contractor in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Chapter 9, Division 3. All traffic signal (and/or street lighting) work under this Contract shall be considered specialty in nature. Any Contractor and/or subcontractor proposing to perform this specialty work must possess a valid Class C-10 license prior to award of contract. Persons performing the work of an electrician shall be certified in accordance with California Labor Code Section 3099. Proof of Certification shall be provided to the City prior to commencement of work.
