City of Irvine Releases Notice of Inviting Bid

CITY OF IRVINE RFP -RANCHO SENIOR CENTER IMPROVEMENTS

BID OPENING: Bids will be received at the City of Irvine until 10:00:00 a.m. on Tueday, May 31, 2016, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Hand-delivered or courier delivered bid packages shall be brought to the RECEPTIONIST for the Purchasing Agent at the reception desk located on the first floor of the Civic Center building at the City of Irvine, located at One Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, California 92606-5207. Mailed bids shall be sent to City of Irvine, c/o Purchasing Agent, P.O. Box 19575, Irvine, CA 92623-9575. All bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes.

ENGINEERS ESTIMATE: $377,000 Map

MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at the Operation Support Facility, 6427 Oak Canyon, Irvine, CA 92618. Failure to attend will result in your bid being declared non- responsive.

SCOPE OF WORK:

  • Installation of a Fire Sprinkler System
  • Replacing 5 Rooftop Package Units
  • Upsizing the Rooftop Heat Pump Unit serving the Gym Room
  • Replace Existing Roof Curb
  • Provide Electrical Power to the new Rooftop Package Heat Pump
  • Extend the Existing Roof Screen

 

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class B license. At the time of submitting the bid, the Bidder shall be licensed as a contractor in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Chapter 9, Division 3.

In accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 20103.5, when federal funds are involved in local agency contracts, no bid shall be invalidated by the failure of the bidder to be licensed in California at the time of bid opening. However, at the time of award, the selected contractor shall be properly licensed in accordance with the laws of the state.

MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS: Bidders will be required to document their status as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), a Women-owned Business Enterprise (MBE) or a non-MBE/WBE firm.  Bidders that are not MBE/WBE firms will be required to make a good faith effort, and to document their efforts to include firms as part of the contract bid.

PREVAILING RATES OF WAGES: Prevailing wage requirements apply to public works projects with a value exceeding $1,000.00. The definition of “public works” is found at Labor Code Section 1720, et seq.
