The Lido House Hotel Project has been in the works for a while now but last week the city officially signed the lease over to R.D. Olson for the property on Newport Boulevard. Bob Olson and Mayor Rush Hill signed the papers last Monday in a small ceremony in front of the old council chambers. The lease was approved the week prior to move the 130-room boutique hotel project forward. The old city hall site is being transformed into a luxury boutique hotel that will capture the heritage and spirit of Lido and Newport Beach. The design includes truly public open spaces, including a new “Bay to Beach Park” for residents and guests.

The owner of R.D Olson is Bob Olson, a longtime resident of Newport Beach. The hotel operator is Destination Hotels & Resorts, which operates three hotels in SoCal and has an excellent track record in running upscale coastal hotels. SABP is excited to see the project progress!
