The Great Park in Irvine awarded
The international competition to house the 2013 Solar Decathlon
Dedicated to a sustainable future, the internationally recognized Solar Decathlon and XPO will be held October 3 – 13, 2013 at The Great Park with an anticipated attendance of 100,000.
An award winning competition with teams from universities nationwide and internationally funded by the Department of Energy, the Solar Decathlon was formerly housed in Washington DC and recognized for engaging the public in sustainable practice and design.
The AIAOC is a partner in the exposition adjacent to the Solar Decathlon known as the XPO, through a symposium series of case studies of sustainable projects. These 30-minute presentations are part of the Symposium Lecture Series provided to educate the general public on sustainable design and recognized as a foundation to the success of the XPO. Additionally, the AIAOC Student Design Competition winners awarded at the 2013 Design Awards Gala will be exhibited at the AIAOC XPO booth.
