Chris Brandon and Colleen HowesIt always amazes me to see a project evolve from the ground up. From printing the first (of many) plan check sets to the final construction plans. It was such a treat to attend a private viewing of such a sophisticated and uniquely designed home located on Galatea Terrace in Corona del Mar.

Artfully built by Spinnaker Development of Newport Beach in a joint venture with Ron and Debbie Miller, this gracious home was listed for $8,795,000.

This stunning residence was designed by Chris Brandon of Brandon Architects and is truly a work of Art. The exterior, whilelower level being very striking, cannot begin to prepare you for the remarkable way this Architect’s designs optimized the magnificent views of the entrance to the Newport Harbor. Upon entering the front doors, one is immediately taken aback by the openness of the home, and the distinctively designed land and water scapes. There is a very unique outdoor sitting area that is situated on the lower level at the center of the atrium. The lower level is an entertainer’s paradise, with a huge wine cellar, pool table, 2 guest suites and 2 waterfalls trickling down from the first level.

front of houseOnce entering the great room the panoramic views are fully utilized with the large floor to ceiling glass doors running along the entire living and kitchen area.  Your senses are constantly rewarded by the use of rare stone, marble, onyx, quartz, granites, and ocean fossil, along with the use of rich woods.  Walking through this home was like being in a museum as around every corner there was something exceptional and beautiful to see.

While sipping wine and enjoying delicious hordercves served on the ocean view outdoor patio, we were once again rewardedview when we looked below on the hillside of this property at the dazzling pool and spa skillfully designed with intermittent sprays of water spurting out from the fountains lining the side of the pool.  This is the first hillside pool of its kind to be built in this area, making it all the more unique.

According to Mike Close, owner of Spinnaker Development this impressive home is currently in escrow.  Congratulations to you all for your entrepreneurial spirit and for creating a true masterpiece!

Brandon Architecture has created over 20 custom designs in Corona del Mar alone. Spinnaker development is soon to complete construction of two custom homes and is preparing to break ground on another home on Ocean Blvd in CDM.
